Q: My Weight of Conscience enchants my opponent's creature and I tap Surgespanner and another Merfolk to put Weight's "Remove enchanted creature from the game" ability on the stack. I pay to put the Surgespanner's ability of "return Weight of Conscience to my hand" on the stack as well. I return Weight of Conscience to my hand. Then I attempt to resolve "Remove enchanted creature from the game." Even though the creature is no longer enchanted by Weight of Conscience will it still be removed from the game using "last known information"?

A: Yes. Here's how the sequence works.

Step 1: Announce the Weight of Conscience ability. Pay the cost, which is tapping Surgespanner and another Merfolk.
Step 2: Surgespanner's ability triggers, since it became tapped. Choose a target for it (in this case, Weight of Conscience).
Step 3: Resolve Surgespanner's ability. Here, you get the option to pay . If you do, you bounce Weight of Conscience.
Step 4: Resolve Weight of Conscience's ability. Since the Weight is no longer in play, the game will use last-known information to determine what the "enchanted creature" was. All the oblivion with none of the ring.
Step 5: Profit!

Inderdaad werkt het gewoon. Ik denk dat deze regel hier toepasbaar is:

112.7a Once activated or triggered, an ability exists on the stack independently of its source. Destruction or removal of the source after that time won't affect the ability. Note that some abilities cause a source to do something (for example, "Prodigal Sorcerer deals 1 damage to target creature or player") rather than the ability doing anything directly. In these cases, any activated or triggered ability that references information about the source because the effect needs to be divided checks that information when the ability is put onto the stack. Otherwise, it will check that information when it resolves. In both instances, if the source is no longer in the zone it's expected to be in at that time, its last known information is used. The source can still perform the action even though it no longer exists.

Ik weet wel dat het de stack gebruikt en je kunt reageren, maar ik was net niet 100% zeker van de legaliteit van de creature, als de ability resolved terwijl WoC al terug is in je hand. Maar ik ben er nu gewoon over uit dat het inderdaad wel werkt: Er wordt geen gebruik gemaakt van 'target', dus er is ook geen niet-legaal target. En hey, ik ben natuurlijk Rules Guru voor een reden.

Volgens mij is er dan geen "enchanted creature" meer mdat hij dan niet meer enchanted is en doet de ability niks. Kan zo 1,2,3 niks in de regels daar over vinden maar ik zoek even verder.

Zo een activated ability gaat toch via de stack? Dus in dat geval zou je de cost kunnen betalen, met dat op de stack je Weight of Conscience weer terug toveren naar je hand.

Hoe de meeste situaties werken weet ik wel, maar toen ik deze als random kaart zag moest ik toch iets weten. Als je twee creatures tapt voor de tweede ability, dan gaat hij op de stack. Als ik, zeg, Narrow Escape gebruik om Weight of Conscience terug te halen, gaat de abiltiy dan nog door? Het gaat niet om een legal target, want target staat er niet. Alleen op het moment dat de ability resolved is de creature niet meer enchanted. Als ik het beredeneer met de kennis die ik heb denk ik dat het wel lukt, maar ik wil het toch even zeker weten.
