Op de stack heeft X de gekozen waarde (in alle andere zones dan de stack heeft X de waarde nul).
Je koos voor X de waarde 10. De CMC van Blazing Shoal op de stack is dus 12.
Daar doet het feit dat je een alternative cost betaalt, niks aan af.
Wordt een Shoal (Blazing Shoal bijvoorbeeld) die via de Rather than Pay cost gespeeld wordt doordat prognitus wordt exiled uit je hand gecounterd door Chalice als Chalice twee charge counters op zich heeft? Dit voorval hadden wij net op MWS maar we wisten beide het antwoord niet met zekerheid.

cavern zegt dat het niet gecountered kan worden dus alhoewel de chalice wel triggert zal deze ook gewoon niet counteren
Stel er ligt een cotv met 2 counters in het spel
Ik cast een 2cmc bear waarvan 1 mana gemaakt met Cavern of Souls
Met type bear uiteraard
Wordt deze dan gecounterd?

Stel ik heb een chalice op een. Ik speel een {aether vial} kan ik deze tock laten resolven door een trickbind op de chalice zijn triggered ability te spelen?
Moet je die kaart wel net hebben. Ik kon nu gewoon gaan wachten tot ik een Maelstrom Pulse ging rapen. Tja, daar wil ik mijn tijd niet aan verspillen ^^. Maar die combo met Mishra is idd nog minder leuk

En dan speel jij gewoon een Repeal erop. Weet je wat nog minder leuk is: Mishra’s Workshop into Trinisphere. Dat is gewoon poep, zeker als je geen counters op hand heb.
Speelt hier net iemand in beurt 1 een Ancient Tomb en Chalice of the Void in beurt 1. Ik begrijp niet helemaal hoe magic dan nog leuk is.

Vraag: Ik heb een Chalice of the Void met 2 counters erop en mijn tegenstander speelt een Hypnotic Specter. Kan ik dan ervoor zorgen dat de Chalice de Specter countert door er snel een counter op te plaatsen met bijvoorbeeld Clockspinning?
Antwoord: Nee, je bent dan al te laat. Je mag pas reageren door er een counter op te leggen nadat de spell geplayed is en op de stack ligt. Maar dat is al te laat voor de Chalice om te triggeren.
Vraag: Ik heb een Chalice of the Void 3 counters erop en een Trinisphere in het spel. Worden nu alle spells die 3 of minder kosten gecountered?
Antwoord: Nee, want Chalice of the Void kijkt naar de converted mana cost (hier meer info over CMC), niet naar wat je er werkelijk voor betaalt.

A mana cost of XX means that you pay twice X. If you want X to be 3, you pay 6 to cast Chalice of the Void.

The number of counters on Chalice of the Void matters only at the time the spell is cast. Changing the number of charge counters on Chalice of the Void after a spell has been cast won’t change whether the ability counters the spell.

If there are zero charge counters on Chalice of the Void, it counters each spell with a converted mana cost of 0. This includes face-down creature spells cast with morph’s alternative cost.

Chalice of the Void has to be on the battlefield at the end of casting a spell for the ability to trigger. If you sacrifice Chalice of the Void as a cost to cast a spell, its ability can’t trigger. However, if it leaves the battlefield once its ability has triggered, that ability will still counter the spell.
